A more common engineered alternative to dealing with large volumes going to the flare is the Vapor Point – Point Source H₂S Controls. This process is targeted at finding the source of the H₂S in the units and isolating it from the bigger circuit. In doing so, a smaller footprint and a more economic solution can be deployed. The system is then tied back into the larger vapor circuit that is typically included in either FGR or the flare system with the H₂S removed, eliminating SOX emissions from either system.
